Jewellery shoppers cannot touch the product. If the product page leaves gaps on material, size or delivery, they leave. This is not a design problem first. It is a clarity problem.
Open your top three jewellery PDPs on a phone. Can a new shopper answer metal, size and delivery time without scrolling far?
| PDP area | What shoppers need | Common miss |
|---|---|---|
| Product facts | Metal, stone, finish near price | Vague “premium quality” copy |
| Sizing | Guide beside the variant picker | Size chart buried in tabs |
| Proof | SKU-matched reviews and photos | Generic star blocks only |
| Delivery | Time and returns before long scroll | Policy links only in footer |
Be specific about the product
Write the metal, stone, weight and finish in plain language near the price. Vague lines like "premium quality" do not help someone decide between two similar rings.
- State metal type and purity clearly
- Name stone type and size when it matters
- Show scale with a hand, model or size reference photo
Remove sizing guesswork
Sizing is a common reason for returns on rings and bracelets. Put a size guide close to the variant selector. If you mail ring sizers, say so before checkout.
Show proof that matches the SKU
Reviews help when they mention fit, finish or service. Generic five-star blocks with no detail do little for high-ticket pieces. Customer photos of the same product work better than stock-only galleries.
Surface delivery and returns early
On mobile, shipping time and return window should be visible before a long scroll. One clear sentence is enough. Link to full policy pages for the rest.
What we check on jewellery stores
On Shopify jewellery builds and audits we review gallery quality, variant labels, size guidance, trust copy near the buy button, and whether apps are slowing the page. Small clarity fixes often beat another theme redesign.
